This looks like a hoot!
At the Old Florida Museum in St. Augustine on Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 9:30am -1:30pm.
This is only about 1 hour 45 min. drive from downtown Orlando, not as far as you might think.
Here's a quick description of the event (more details can be read here):
This interactive experience is designed to expose students to daily
living activities of the Timucuan Indians, early Spanish settlers, and
Florida Pioneer children, as well as the field of archaeology. We will
reinforce some of the things they learned in the Game Zone at the
Pioneer Barn. Every child can participate in the games.
Cost is:
$16.95 at the door for 3 and up
$14.95 if you pay in advance by 1/24
Call Angela Bowyer at 904-824-8874 to make reservations.
This is a great deal since the normal cost of admission is $27.95 and does not include all the events of the day.
If it's anything like the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse Homeschool Days, it will be well worth the trip.
We will not be able to attend this year. However, I will consider going in February just to check out the museum and "edutainment". If we do I'll post the details.
